The vote counting process in Gjilan is nearing completion, with 7 out of 146 polling stations still unprocessed. So far, 95.21% of votes have been counted.

From the diaspora votes, Alban Hyseni of LVV received 51.77%, while Arbër Ismajli of LDK got 36.32%.

However, this is not enough for Hyseni to win outright without a runoff, as votes from the remaining seven polling stations are yet to be counted.

According to current results released by the CEC, Alban Hyseni has 49.82% of the total votes, while Arbër Ismajli has 34.30%.

In response, Hyseni thanked citizens for their trust, but the situation regarding whether a runoff will be necessary remains unclear.

He stated:

“Big work awaits us, and our mobilization is our greatest strength.”

Hyseni also addressed his supporters:

“Dear citizens of Gjilan, activists of VETËVENDOSJE, and all of you who voted massively on October 12, I sincerely thank each of you for the strong support during our first four-year mandate, and also for a fantastic, dignified campaign, free of insults, with numerous meetings in every neighborhood and village of our Gjilan.

“The strong support from the citizens of my hometown and the diaspora — who voted by mail or traveled to Kosovo on election day — is a great honor and responsibility for me and our movement. Big tasks await us, and our mobilization is the great power that has triumphed in every contest. With the same intensity, we will continue forward TOGETHER with each of you.”
