Unexploded Ordnance Discovered in Kosovo, KSF Intervenes

PRISTINA, Kosovo – July 10, 2025 – Two pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO) were found on Wednesday, one in the village of Kaçanik i Vjetër near the railway, and the other in Rahovec. In both instances, units from the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) carried out controlled detonations of the devices.

Incident Details:

Case 1 (Kaçanik): A Kosovar male reported encountering a suspected unexploded device near the railway. Police units secured the scene, while KSF demining units arrived and detonated the device in a controlled and safe manner. The prosecutor was informed about the incident.

Case 2 (Rahovec): A Kosovar male notified police that while working with an excavator in his home’s yard, he found a suspicious unexploded device. Police units secured the area, and KSF demining units removed the suspected device—an A-6 hand grenade—in a controlled and safe manner.
