The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is set to embark on a tour of the six Western Balkan countries, focusing on the integration of these nations into the European Union.
Her first stop will be in Albania, where she arrives on Wednesday.
The senior EU official will hold her first meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama, followed by a welcome speech at the European College of Tirana. She will then meet with President Bajram Begaj.
Von der Leyen will continue her tour in North Macedonia, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, and Montenegro.
