US Army lawyers recently delivered a lecture for students at the International Business College in Mitrovica, focusing on the role of military lawyers and the critical services they provide in support of the KFOR mission.

The lecture emphasized how US military lawyers collaborate with KFOR in legal matters and highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two entities. Captain Laura Eckstein, a legal officer with the General Counsel’s Corps, stationed at the KFOR Regional Command East, led the session. She was joined by Captain Gurney Pearsall, a US Army lawyer with the Regional Support Group – Balkans, who spoke about how their group cooperates with KFOR in legal matters.

These efforts are part of KFOR’s daily mission to support and ensure a safe and stable environment for all communities in Kosovo. KFOR continues to carry out its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), contributing to a secure environment and guaranteeing freedom of movement for all people and communities in Kosovo.

KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in line with their respective roles in maintaining security in the region.
