An attack on a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia has left 12 American soldiers injured, two of them in critical condition, a U.S. official told Reuters.

The attack, which occurred on Friday, targeted Prince Sultan Air Base. It was carried out using drones and caused damage to several U.S. aerial refueling aircraft.

The incident comes just one day after U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that Iran’s military had been “completely destroyed.”

This is not the first time the air base has been targeted by Iran. On March 1, U.S. Army Sergeant Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, was injured at the base and died several days later.

So far, at least 303 U.S. personnel have been injured in the conflict with Iran.
