U.S. Congressman Keith Self has introduced the Presheva Valley Discrimination Assessment Act in the United States Congress, a legislative initiative aimed at addressing the treatment of Albanians by Serbian authorities.

The news was announced by the organization Albanians for USA, which emphasized that the legislation obliges the U.S. State Department to conduct an official assessment of Serbia’s institutional and systematic discrimination against Albanians in Preshevë, Bujanoc, and Medvegjë.

According to the initiative, the State Department report will serve as a basis to inform U.S. foreign policy and potential diplomatic actions regarding the protection of human rights and national minority rights in Serbia.
