The U.S. military is reportedly deploying more fighter jets to the Middle East and extending the stay of other combat aircraft, thereby strengthening the U.S. military presence in the region as the war between Israel and Iran continues. This information comes from three American officials.
According to Reuters, one official stated that the deployments include F-16, F-22, and F-35 fighter jets.
Two U.S. officials emphasized that the deployment of these fighter jets is entirely defensive in nature, clarifying that these assets have previously been engaged in shooting down drones and missiles launched towards military and civilian targets.
The Pentagon has not yet commented on these reports.
Earlier today, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that U.S. President Donald Trump has made no declarations suggesting that the United States would become directly involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
