Attacks on Iran did not destroy its nuclear facilities, according to sources close to U.S. intelligence, as reported tonight by American media outlets CNN and The New York Times.
Preliminary analyses by U.S. intelligence agencies suggest that the strikes conducted by the U.S. in Iran over the past weekend did not destroy the main components of the nuclear facilities. Instead, they inflicted relatively minor damage, setting Tehran back by only a few months.
However, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt denied these reports, asserting that “this so-called assessment is completely wrong.”
The U.S. attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran—Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz—in the early hours of June 22. Immediately after the attacks, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that these facilities were “completely destroyed.” He later accused media of spreading misinformation when some outlets reported difficulties in accurately assessing the damage.
