The US Department of State has revoked over 100,000 visas, in a move aimed at ensuring national security, according to an official announcement reported by Reporteri.net.

Among the revoked visas are approximately 8,000 student visas and 2,500 special visas issued to individuals who had legal issues in the United States due to criminal activities.

“We will continue to deport these criminals to keep America safe,” the Department of State said in a statement.

This figure marks a historic record and follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office mandating the review of foreign nationals.

In August 2025, the Trump administration announced a review of all 55 million foreign nationals holding valid US visas, signaling an unprecedented scrutiny of visa holders. In comparison, in 2024, the Department of State had revoked 40,000 visas.
