The US Army NATO representation has announced that American citizen-soldiers will be deployed to Kosovo, as reported by Gazeta Express.

Members of the Idaho National Guard will join the KFOR mission in Kosovo. Before joining NATO’s mission in Kosovo for a year, they will receive training in Texas. The US mission to NATO emphasized that the security and stability of Kosovo and the region are of strategic importance to NATO.

“The security and stability of Kosovo and the Western Balkans region are of strategic importance to the Alliance,” stated the US Mission to NATO.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani also responded, stating that the people of Kosovo warmly welcome the American soldiers.

“We are grateful for the service and support of every American serving in our country and standing with us,” Osmani wrote.
