U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated today that, although the release of Israeli hostages from Gaza is imminent, the United States’ work is far from over to ensure the conflict does not reignite.

In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Vance emphasized that the administration is committed to monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire and the hostage release agreement.

“We still have a lot of work to do to ensure the war remains fully ended,” he said.

When asked whether the U.S. would deploy troops on the ground to guarantee peace, Vance clarified that sending forces to Gaza or Israel is not part of the plan.

“The President does not plan to send troops to Gaza or Israel. We already have forces from Central Command in the region who will monitor the peace agreement,” he explained.

Vance also highlighted the role of the U.S. President in achieving the agreement, noting his unconventional approach to diplomacy:

“The President broke the traditional diplomatic model and gave extraordinary authority to individuals who were not previously part of this process, such as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. This approach resulted in an agreement that 30–40 years of diplomacy could not secure,” Vance said.

According to Vance, the U.S. President is expected to visit the Middle East to welcome the release of the Israeli hostages and support the closure of this violent chapter.
