Kosovar survivor and human rights advocate Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman has been featured in the prestigious global magazine Vogue as part of a powerful project titled “Let’s Talk About Rape”, by activist and photographer Jadwiga Bronte.

The project presents portraits and personal testimonies of over 250 women from around the world who have endured sexual violence, challenging the norm of anonymity and silence that often surrounds survivors.

Krasniqi-Goodman, one of the first women in Kosovo to speak publicly about her experience of wartime sexual violence, is now internationally recognized as a voice for truth and justice.

According to Kosovo’s official data, an estimated 20,000 people were victims of sexual violence during the 1998–1999 war. Since 2014, Kosovo has had a law recognizing the legal status of such victims, but so far, just over 2,000 survivors have had their status formally acknowledged.

In April 2025, the outgoing Government of Kosovo extended the deadline for applying for victim status recognition to May 2027, a move welcomed by survivor advocacy groups.

Vasfije’s inclusion in Vogue brings renewed international attention to the long-overlooked stories of survivors in Kosovo and across the world.
