The cause of Pope Francis’ death has been revealed.

According to an official statement from the Vatican, the Pope passed away due to a stroke. The announcement came approximately 12 hours after the initial confirmation of his death.

Pope Francis had been suffering from serious health issues, which worsened in the final years of his life.

He particularly struggled with chronic lung conditions. On February 14, he was hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital following a respiratory crisis, which later developed into double pneumonia. He was placed in intensive care for several days before his condition stabilized.
