Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has sent a direct message to U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to avoid conflict and seek peaceful solutions to the growing disputes between the two nations.
“No war, no war. Yes to peace, yes to peace. No crazy war, please, please, please,” Maduro declared in a public statement delivered in English, emphasizing the need for restraint, dialogue, and mutual respect.
The message comes amid escalating political and diplomatic tensions between Venezuela and the United States, following Caracas’s repeated accusations that Washington is interfering in the country’s internal affairs.
The Venezuelan government claims that the U.S. supports opposition groups and is attempting to undermine the nation’s stability.
Maduro underscored that Venezuela’s top priority is peace and national sovereignty, calling on the American administration to cease any threatening rhetoric or actions that could heighten tensions.
“We don’t want clashes, we don’t want threats. We want respect and cooperation between our peoples,” he added.
The Venezuelan leader’s message, widely shared across social media and international media outlets, has been interpreted by analysts as an attempt to ease tensions and a gesture of peace in the often strained relations between Caracas and Washington.
