Albanian Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, revealed that Kosovo was among the key topics discussed at the NATO Defense Ministers’ summit.

In a Facebook post, Vengu stated that the summit emphasized the need for increased vigilance in Kosovo.

“As the Alliance prepares for the Hague Summit, today’s proceedings in Brussels paved the way for broad consensus on increasing defense and security spending, with a focus on boosting domestic production, operational readiness, and investments in critical infrastructure,” he wrote.

He highlighted that particular attention was paid to threats in Southeast Europe and reiterated the need for heightened vigilance in Kosovo.

“The Alliance’s focus on threats in Southeastern Europe and increased vigilance in Kosovo is of great importance. There was a strong emphasis on the need for speed and cohesion in strengthening defense capacities in response to threats in the East and emerging hybrid challenges,” Vengu added.
