Emin Lati from the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) Veterans’ Organization in Skenderaj strongly reacted to the visit of the Speaker of the Assembly, Dimal Basha, to the Prekaz Memorial Complex.
Lati told Klan Kosova that they had not been notified of the visit and that, had they known in advance, they would have organized a protest around the memorial to block his entry.
“I didn’t know he was coming. If I had known, we would have gathered to hold a small protest around the memorial to prevent his visit,” he said, expressing his anger.
Basha’s visit to Prekaz comes amid controversy stemming from an old post of his, in which he referenced the UÇK being financed by drug traffickers—a statement that sparked strong reactions from veterans and the public.
