The political movement Vetëvendosje (VV) is holding a meeting of its General Council today, just one day before the deadline to decide whether to propose a new prime ministerial candidate or to move the country toward early parliamentary elections.
The General Council meeting of VV has already begun.
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister in office Albin Kurti visited President Vjosa Osmani at her office. According to Reporteri.net, the meeting has already concluded.
Last Friday, President Osmani met with political leaders to discuss the way forward following Kurti’s failure to form a government. After the meeting, former opposition leaders expressed support for early elections, while Kurti declined to speak to the media, stating only that “the Constitution and the law are clear.”
At that time, President Osmani announced that Kurti requested a few additional days to decide whether VV would nominate another prime ministerial candidate in a renewed effort to form the government.
