The Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) has called a press conference for today at 10:00 AM, one hour before the Assembly’s constitutive session. This marks the 38th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo.

The conference comes after the Constitutional Court ruled on Thursday that the constitutive session of the ninth legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo must conclude within 30 days at the latest. Political parties have offered varying interpretations of this decision.

According to Vetëvendosje, the largest party in Kosovo, the obligation to finalize the Assembly’s constitution rests with all deputies, not just the leading party. Vetëvendosje also believes that the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers are of equal importance. Furthermore, Vetëvendosje interprets the ruling to mean that secret voting does not violate the Constitution.

Glauk Konjufca and Albulena Haxhiu are expected to speak at today’s Vetëvendosje press conference.
