Shtime – The ruling party in Shtime, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV), has officially announced the renomination of Qemajl Aliu for a second term as mayor in the upcoming local elections this fall.
In a statement posted on Facebook, LVV said, “To good governance, we extend our hand and give it our full support! With Mayor Qemajl Aliu for the next victory in Shtime, for a second mandate.”
The announcement came during a local meeting in Shtime attended by members of the party’s central leadership, MP Salih Zyba, Minister of Health Arben Vitia, and grassroots activists.
LVV praised Aliu’s first term, stating that “Shtime has become an example of responsible and development-oriented governance, with major and historic projects improving infrastructure and public services.” The party also noted that these achievements provide the foundation for a second term, promising even more investment and work ahead.
Vetëvendosje currently governs four municipalities in Kosovo: Gjilan, Podujeva, Shtime, and Kamenica. Despite internal praise, the party continues to face criticism over its governance at both national and local levels.
