Vetëvendosje Wins the Overwhelming Majority of the Diaspora Votes, LDK Four Votes Behind PDK

The Central Election Commission continues to release new data regarding the counting of votes from diplomatic missions. According to the latest update made on the morning of February 28th, with 93.02% of votes counted, the movement Vetëvendosje leads with 80.75% or 10,898 votes.

In second place is the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) with 1,010 votes, or 7.48%. The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has secured four votes fewer than PDK, totaling 1,006 votes or 7.45%.

Meanwhile, the coalition Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), Conservatives, and Intellectuals has received 1.93%, or 260 votes.

The counting of votes from the diaspora for the regular parliamentary elections of February 9th started in the afternoon of February 26th.

For the first time, Kosovo organized physical voting for members of the diaspora in the country’s diplomatic missions around the world.

The voting on February 8th took place at 43 voting stations across 16 embassies and 14 consulates of Kosovo in 19 different countries.

The voter turnout was high, with 73.56% of voters casting their votes, totaling 15,552 people. A total of 20,324 voters had registered for voting at the diplomatic missions.
