One of the Viçentijević brothers accused of carrying out last year’s attack with roughly 20 kilograms of explosives on the Ibër–Lepenc canal told the Special Prosecution that he was present at a Serbian military base where Radoiçiq’s group trained just one day before the Banjska attack.

Jovan Viçentijević, who also faces espionage charges, was found in possession of a Serbian military intelligence (VBA) identification card.
Authorities say he participated in a 9-day military training program at the same location where the group responsible for the Banjska terrorist attack was trained.

According to the indictment, Viçentijević stated that 120 individuals from northern Kosovo, all Serbs, participated in the training exercises held at Pasuljanske Livade, one of Serbia’s most well-known military training grounds.

“During his transport from North Mitrovica to Prishtina on 2 December 2025 and later to the detention center on 3 December, the defendant disclosed information about his illegal activities and others involved. He stated that he had been trained at the Serbian Army camp ‘Pasuljanske Livade’ from 14.9.2023 to 23.9.2023. Around 120 individuals from northern Kosovo were trained there,” the indictment states.

Jovan Viçentijević whose brother Dragisha is also indicted for terrorism told prosecutors that the group traveled in an organized manner to municipalities near Kosovo just one day before the Banjska attack.

According to him, the trainers at the camp included Serbian Army officer Aleksandar Kosanin, from Kragujevac, and another officer known by the codename “Stole.”

After finishing the training on 23 September 2023, the group traveled by bus to Raška and then to Novi Pazar, where they rested and ate before dispersing.

The Cancelled October 2024 Attack

Viçentijević also admitted knowing about a planned attack in Kosovo scheduled for October 2024, but said it was postponed by the leader of the Banjska operation, Milan Radoiçiq.

“According to the defendant, the attack was halted because Radoiçiq insisted they wait until after the U.S. elections, expecting Donald Trump to win. The defendant claims Radoiçiq financed Trump’s campaign through the Serbian Lobby with 30 million dollars,” the indictment reads.

Forensic Evidence: FBI Soil Analysis and DNA Matches

FBI forensic analysis found soil on the suspects’ boots identical in composition and color to soil from the Ibër–Lepenc canal.

Italian forensic experts also matched DNA traces found on the detonator fuse with the profiles of the accused.

The Charges

The indictment charges Jovan and Dragisha Viçentijević with:

  • Terrorism
  • Endangering constitutional order by damaging public infrastructure
  • Illegal possession of weapons (along with co-defendant Igor Dimic)

Separately, the massive indictment filed in September 2024 against 45 individuals for the Banjska attack accuses most of the group of terrorism and serious offenses against Kosovo’s constitutional order and security.

Background: The Banjska Attack

On 24 September 2023, a heavily armed Serbian group ambushed Kosovo Police in Banjska, killing officer Afrim Bunjaku and injuring several others.
The indictment identifies Milan Radoiçiq as the leader of the terrorist group, which attempted through heavy weaponry and coordinated violence to seize the Serb-majority northern municipalities and annex them to Serbia.
