The Vidovdan celebration, traditionally marked with gatherings and commemorative activities, concluded on the outskirts of Prishtina today. The event, observed annually by the Serbian Orthodox Church, includes religious rituals in memory of soldiers killed in what is known as the Battle of Kosovo.

As the celebration came to an end, nationalist chants of “Kosova je Srbija” (Kosovo is Serbia) were heard from participants.

The Kosovo Police escorted two Serbian citizens from the scene. One individual was found provoking with a plastic pistol, while another wore a shirt bearing the image of Aleksandar Arsenijević, a suspected war crimes perpetrator. The latter is also suspected of obstructing police officers in the line of duty.

In addition to the Kosovo Police, Special Units, KFOR, and EULEX personnel were deployed on the ground to monitor the situation closely.

The increased security presence and monitoring underscore concerns over nationalist provocations and the potential for tensions during such commemorative events.
