Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the violent national protest organized by the opposition in Tirana, strongly condemning acts of violence and the destruction of public property.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, Rama stressed that peaceful protest is a legitimate democratic right, but warned that organized violence has no connection to freedom of expression.

“The state does not bow to violence and vandalism,” Rama stated, underlining that attacks on institutions and law enforcement undermine democratic values rather than strengthen them.

The Prime Minister also expressed solidarity with police officers who were injured during clashes with protesters, thanking them for their service in maintaining public order.

Authorities continue to assess the damage caused during the protest, while investigations into the violent incidents are ongoing.
