The Municipality of Vitia has been profoundly shaken by a series of tragic losses, as three young people from the municipality have died unexpectedly and tragically within just three days. This has left immense grief for their families and loved ones.
In response to this difficult moment, Mayor Sokol Haliti has declared Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a Day of Mourning in the Municipality of Vitia. This decision honors the memory of the lost lives and expresses solidarity with those enduring this profound pain.
“This pain is indescribable and has deeply affected each one of us,” Mayor Haliti stated. “In honor of their lives and to express the solidarity of the institutions and all citizens with the families facing this great sorrow, I declare Wednesday, 11.06.2025, a DAY OF MOURNING in the Municipality of Vitia.”
During the Day of Mourning:
- Flags at all municipal institutions will be lowered to half-mast.
- Cultural, sports, and festive activities will be suspended.
- Institutions and citizens are expected to honor the memory of the young people with silence and deep respect.
