The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, announced that no cases of the HMPV virus have been reported in Kosovo.

In a press conference, he emphasized that all necessary measures have been taken in case of any need to address potential situations related to this virus, which has recently emerged in China.

“We have not had any cases of HMPV so far. The Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) is in continuous contact with all relevant mechanisms available for this issue, and we are in contact with the WHO and other institutions.”

“At the moment any case is detected, measures will be immediately taken based on the recommendations of IKSHPK. There is no cause for panic among citizens. IKSHPK and the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (SHSKUK) have already started preparations and measures. If there were any reason for panic, we would have released information; there is no reason to panic about this,” stated Vitia.
