Vjosa Osmani has stated that she is confident her recent decree fully complies with the Constitution, despite the Constitutional Court issuing a temporary suspension.
Before the court’s decision was published, Osmani said she had consulted with dozens of legal experts and welcomed any ruling by the court.
“Whatever the decision of the Court ultimately is, it is welcome for us. It is normal for institutions to have different interpretations. I have no fear. All I expect is that the court rules in accordance with the principle of integrity and freely interprets the Constitution,” Osmani said.
She emphasized her belief in the decree’s constitutionality, while acknowledging that no one is infallible:
“We are confident that the decree is fully in line with the Constitution. But I am not a prophet who never makes mistakes. That is why the Constitutional Court exists,” she added in an interview with Çim Peka.
