Vjosa Osmani stated that the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump was the most supportive of Kosovo since the country declared independence, emphasizing that no concessions were requested from Kosovo.

Speaking in an interview with Syri TV, Osmani said cooperation with the United States helped open new international opportunities for Kosovo and strengthened its global standing.

She highlighted Kosovo’s participation in the NATO Summit in Washington and involvement in the Peace Board initiative as examples of steps that reinforced Kosovo’s international subjectivity.

“I have not made any concessions for Kosovo either with the EU or with the United States,” Osmani said.

The Kosovo president also revealed discussions with U.S. officials, including Marco Rubio, about potential membership for Kosovo in NATO, saying the goal would be to achieve it without lobbying costs or political concessions.

Osmani further noted that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) program for Kosovo was renegotiated in Washington, securing the continuation of a project worth over $200 million.

She stressed that Kosovo’s close relationship with the United States should be viewed as a security guarantee rather than an obstacle, adding that even during Trump’s presidency Kosovo received significant support.

“President Trump did not leave us alone; he strengthened us by inviting us to the Peace Board,” Osmani said.
