U.S. President Donald Trump has just responded to the overnight attacks in Kyiv, stating that he is “not happy” and describing the strikes as “unnecessary” and coming at a highly inappropriate time.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:

“I am not pleased with the Russian attacks on Kyiv. They are unnecessary, and the timing is very inappropriate. Vladimir, STOP! 5,000 soldiers die every week. Let’s finalize the Peace Deal!”

At least nine people have been killed as a result of Russian drone and missile attacks in Kyiv, Ukrainian officials said on Thursday.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that dozens of people were injured, including six children, during the overnight attacks.

The nighttime strike—one of the largest in recent months—came just hours after the White House reportedly delivered an ultimatum to Ukrainian officials regarding an American proposal to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began more than three years ago.
