In a critical statement ahead of a key meeting in Paris, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that “Europe’s security is at a turning point.” She, alongside European Council President Antonio Costa, will participate in an informal gathering of European leaders to discuss the evolving challenges.
Von der Leyen underlined the urgent need for a new approach, stating that the situation not only concerns Ukraine but also Europe itself. “We urgently need a new way of thinking. We must strengthen our defense, and we need both now,” she affirmed, highlighting the gravity of the moment for Europe’s future security.
