Von der Leyen’s Visit to Kosovo: Police Announce Temporary Traffic Interruptions

The Kosovo Police have announced that there will be temporary traffic interruptions on several road segments and near state buildings due to the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who will be in Kosovo today.

In the announcement, it is stated that the interruptions will occur for short periods and on the segments where the escort is expected to pass. During this time, traffic will be redirected to alternative routes.

“The Kosovo Police, during this visit, will ensure the provision of security and the maintenance of public order and peace while the escort is moving and during the stay of the EU delegation in Kosovo. To facilitate the free movement of the official escort, under escort and security according to the movement itinerary, as well as to carry out activities according to the visit agenda, the Kosovo Police will temporarily interrupt traffic (for short periods) on certain road segments (where the escort is expected to pass) and near state buildings, where traffic will be redirected to alternative routes. Therefore, the Kosovo Police request full understanding from citizens and participants in traffic,” the announcement reads.

Von der Leyen will meet with state leaders, President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

She is scheduled to meet with the president at 09:45, after which they will hold a press conference. Meanwhile, she will meet with the prime minister at 11:15.
