The vote-counting process from Kosovo’s local elections continues across the Municipal Counting Centers (QKNs), while in four municipalities — Hani i Elezit, Junik, Mamushë, and Zveçan — the process has been fully completed, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Tuesday.
According to the CEC, by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the counting process was finalized in these four municipalities. Meanwhile, counting has resumed in three other centers — Prishtina, Podujeva, and Klokot — which earlier in the day had experienced technical difficulties due to internet problems.
Verification and Counting Activities Underway
In its statement, the CEC noted that three main activities are being carried out simultaneously across all Municipal Counting Centers:
- Verification of results from the mayoral elections,
- Verification of political entity results from municipal assembly elections, and
- Counting of votes for candidates running for municipal assembly seats.
Progress by 4:00 p.m.
As of 4:00 p.m., the CEC reported that:
- Results from 550 polling stations have been verified in the mayoral elections,
- Results from 334 polling stations have been verified in the municipal assembly elections, and
- Votes for individual candidates in those same 334 polling stations have also been counted.
The CEC added that the verified results from these counting centers are now being published on its official platform, allowing the public to track updates in real time.
Ensuring Transparency and Accuracy
The CEC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and procedural accuracy during the verification and counting stages, noting that each Municipal Counting Center is monitored by election officials, party representatives, and observers to ensure a fair process.
