The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that at 02:00 on Friday, January 9, 2026, the final counting of postal ballots cast outside Kosovo was completed at the Counting and Results Center (CRC).
With the conclusion of this stage, CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi confirmed that the entire vote-counting process for the early parliamentary elections, held on December 28, 2025, has now officially ended.
CEC Prepared to Publish Final Election Results
“With the completion of the counting of these ballots, the CEC is ready to announce the final results of the early elections held on December 28,” Elezi stated.
However, he emphasized that under the Law on General Elections, political parties and other stakeholders retain the right to file complaints with the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP/PZAP) regarding the administration of the counting process at the CRC within 48 hours of the alleged violation.
The announcement marks a key procedural milestone, bringing Kosovo closer to the certification of election results and the formation of new governing institutions.
