The Basic Court in Prizren on Friday ordered one month of pretrial detention for five individuals suspected of vote manipulation during the December 28 parliamentary elections in the municipality.

According to the Court’s statement, the suspects A.Sh., I.B., B.S., and H.P. have been placed in detention on suspicion of having individually committed the criminal offense of “falsification of election results.”

Meanwhile, another suspect, N.B., is under investigation for “abuse of official position or authority,” specifically for the intentional failure to carry out legally mandated duties related to the electoral process.

The Court announced that the detention measure may last until February 28, 2026.

In connection with the same vote manipulation case in Prizren, 23 additional suspects are already being held in pretrial detention, bringing the total number of detained individuals in this investigation to 28.

Authorities have emphasized that investigations are ongoing as part of broader efforts to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
