The National Election Coordinator, Prosecutor Laura Pula, met with Kosovo Police Deputy Director Colonel Fehmi Hoti to discuss preliminary investigations into discrepancies in vote counts for parliamentary candidates.
The Prosecutor’s Office stated that after these discrepancies were identified, chief prosecutors in all municipalities where the vote recount has concluded were instructed to collect necessary information and secure relevant evidence to verify any criminal activity related to the election process.
Deputy Director Hoti emphasized that the Kosovo Police have sufficient capacities to assist the state prosecutors in this effort.
The recount of one-third of polling stations revealed differences of hundreds to thousands of votes for candidates within political parties. As a result, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has decided to conduct a full nationwide recount of all votes.
