With over 90% of the votes counted in the parliamentary elections in Kosovo, we now have a clearer picture of the support received by candidates for the Kosovo Assembly.
This time, well-known figures from the world of sports were also part of the race.
Football coach Bylbyl Sokoli, a candidate from the Vetëvendosje Movement!, has received 14,554 votes, bringing him close to securing a seat in the next Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, Ragip Xhaka, the father of Granit and Taulant Xhaka and a candidate from PDK, has received 13,221 votes.
Edon Zhegrova’s father, Lulzim Zhegrova, received far fewer votes than expected. The LDK candidate has secured 3,473 votes, which are insufficient to win a seat in Parliament.
Mërgim Mavraj, former captain of the Albanian National Team and candidate from the Coalition for Families, received 1,806 votes.
Lastly, Lumbardh Salihu, former footballer and LDK candidate for the Kosovo Assembly, received 5,332 votes.
