Today, citizens across Kosovo are participating in local elections to elect new mayors for the country’s 38 municipalities.
To ensure the smooth conduct of this democratic process, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in coordination with the Kosovo Police and KFOR troops, has deployed mobile patrols in several areas to monitor the overall security situation.
According to an EULEX statement, their presence on the ground aims to contribute to a calm and safe atmosphere, allowing every eligible citizen to vote freely and without pressure.
The mission emphasized that supporting local institutions in conducting a peaceful and orderly electoral process remains one of its key priorities in Kosovo.
