The Prime Minister of Serbia, Milos Vucevic, has stated that at the Merdare border point—the only one that the Kosovo government has opened for Serbian goods—there is “nervousness,” and inspections are taking too long.
He remarked that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is “nervous” about the elections scheduled for February 9 next year, as well as the upcoming U.S. elections, which he claims will determine the fate of the world and geopolitics for at least the next four, possibly ten years.
“Kurti continues to create conditions for Serbs to not live normally in Kosovo,” Vucevic continued his victim narrative.
He acknowledged that while it’s “a good thing” that the entry of goods from Serbia is allowed again, in practice, it’s difficult since only the Merdare crossing is open.
“Inspections are deliberately prolonged, creating nervousness and complicating the entry of Serbian goods into Kosovo,” he said, adding that this effectively “cancels out what was agreed upon and signed in Berlin.”
“We expect the Jarinje and Bërnjak crossings to open. This is all a waiting game, small moves in a larger game,” Vucevic claimed, as he played the role of the aggrieved party once again.
