Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has sharply criticized the Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office (TOK), accusing it of “criminal behavior” and interfering in the country’s judiciary for political purposes.
Vučić declined to comment directly on the arrest of 11 individuals, including former government officials, in connection with a financial investigation into the modernization of the Novi Sad–Subotica–Kelebija railway line.
“As for this ‘color revolution’ and the criminal behavior of the Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office — which acts not against organized crime, but as organized crime — I will speak more about this tomorrow, including their media allies and their operatives within the Serbian police,” Vučić said while visiting homes being rebuilt after recent fires near Žitorađa.
He added that “a time of decisions and responsibility” lies ahead, promising that Serbia would be “protected and defended.”
Vučić called on citizens to gather on Sunday at 7 PM in Sremski Karlovci for the official commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Croatia’s ‘Operation Storm’, which he described as a “criminal operation.”
“I don’t know if Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik will be able to attend, but the Patriarch will speak, and I will address everything we are facing and ask for the people’s support for what lies ahead,” Vučić stated.
He concluded by claiming that the “homeland is under threat, attacked both externally and internally,” and insisted that Serbia must defend itself.
