The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Milorad Dodik to one year in prison, as well as a six-year ban on holding the position of President of the Republic of Srpska, starting from the date the decision becomes final.

This has triggered reactions from official Belgrade. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has called for an urgent session of the National Security Council due to the latest information from the region.

Vučić called for an emergency session of the Security Council due to the decision against Dodik.

Meanwhile, the court acquitted the Acting Director of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska, Milosh Lukić, of all charges.

This is a first-instance decision that can be appealed.

Speaking after the verdict was announced, Dodik said: “They say I’m guilty. There’s no reason to worry.”
