Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has claimed that he held a brief conversation with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker during the World Economic Forum in Davos, but no official Austrian source has confirmed the meeting.

In a post published five days ago on Instagram, Vučić wrote that he was pleased to meet Stocker and that their discussion focused on current European challenges, economic cooperation, and the importance of stability in Europe.

“It is always a pleasure to meet Christian Stocker. During our short encounter, we discussed current European challenges, economic cooperation, and the importance of stability in Europe,” Vučić stated.

However, the official website of the Austrian Federal Government does not mention Vučić at all in its summary of Chancellor Stocker’s meetings in Davos.

According to the Austrian government’s statement, Stocker held talks with several international leaders, including Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq, José Raúl Mulino, President of Panama, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan, and Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The discussions reportedly focused on migration cooperation, economic projects, and advanced technologies.

No reference to a meeting with Vučić appears in the statement, nor are there any photographs of the two leaders together on official Austrian photo services.

Additionally, Chancellor Stocker did not share any content related to Vučić on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, further fueling speculation over whether the encounter took place as described.

The absence of confirmation from both the Austrian government and the Austrian chancellor himself has raised questions about the accuracy of Vučić’s public claims regarding high-level meetings at Davos.
