Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has confirmed that he will represent his country at the European Political Community Summit scheduled to take place in Tirana on May 16.

Vučić was questioned by journalists during the visit of European Council President Antonio Costa to Belgrade about whether he anticipates criticism regarding his recent visit to Moscow and meeting with the Russian president there.

“Do I expect reactions and attacks? Well, of course I do,” he stated.

He indicated that he will arrive in Tirana on Thursday evening and that European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also be present. The European Political Community meeting itself will be held on Friday.

This year’s European Political Community Summit is convening under the motto “The New Europe in a New World: Unity – Cooperation – Joint Action.”

Leaders will initially meet in a plenary session dedicated to security and a shared vision for the future of Europe.
