During his visit to Beijing, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić accused Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo of forming a military alliance “against Serbia,” while insisting that the Serbian Armed Forces are strong enough to deter any potential aggressor.
“It was no coincidence that Pristina, Zagreb, and Tirana formed a military alliance. And they didn’t do it because of Austria, Hungary, or Slovenia, but because of Serbia… Why are you forcing us to pretend we are more foolish than we are? We are not fools who cannot understand why you did it,” Vučić told reporters in Beijing, according to the Beta news agency.
Although he did not explicitly identify the agreement in question, Vučić appeared to refer to the March 2025 defense cooperation declaration signed by Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo. That document emphasizes cooperation aimed at stability and security in Southeast Europe, support for the Euro-Atlantic path, and the strengthening of ties among the three partner countries.
Vučić stressed that Serbia “will not attack anyone” but is strengthening its military to defend its territorial integrity.
“We will have a military parade on September 20, where you will see many new things and be surprised… The Serbian army is now a deterrent to any aggressor,” he said.
The Serbian president made these remarks while attending a major military parade in Beijing, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
