The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met today with the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, and described their meeting as a “good one.”

In an Instagram post, Vučić announced that they discussed “key issues regarding the strengthening of cooperation and the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU, as well as regional and global challenges affecting the stability of the entire region amid the difficult and complex situation in Kosovo.”

“I emphasized that constructive dialogue requires both parties, and that Serbia remains committed to dialogue and peaceful resolution of issues, despite the unnecessary escalation of unilateral tensions,” Vučić added.

It is reported that U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, and the director of the Serbian Office for Kosovo, Petar Petković, also participated in the meeting.

Kasanof is expected to visit Kosovo later this week.
