Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that cooperation with India in the defense sector could be highly significant, particularly regarding the export of ammunition from Serbia.
“In today’s world, whenever we export ammunition, someone is always upset. If we export to India, no one will be angry,” Vučić said during his visit to India for the Artificial Intelligence Summit.
He emphasized that discussions focused on how to keep defense industry factories operational and prevent storage facilities from being overstocked.
Vučić also noted that the Serbian government must find ways to facilitate entry for Indian citizens, after the visa-free regime with India was abolished due to EU requirements.
“We will try to address this politically and find the quickest solution to allow a greater number of investors to come,” he said.
The President highlighted the significant opportunities for Serbian businesses in India, including the inflow of investments and the arrival of skilled Indian professionals who can contribute to the development of a sovereign artificial intelligence model in Serbia.
“Here we can sell everything we produce in Serbia, and also increase production and export, generating serious revenue,” Vučić added.
