Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared that he “serves only the citizens of Serbia and the Serbian people,” firmly rejecting the idea of imposing sanctions against Russia.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Vučić delivered strong messages:
“I think it is wrong and dangerous to believe that Serbia is just one man. I have no boss. The only ones I answer to are the citizens of Serbia and the Serbian people. I do not answer to anyone else. Not to those in the West, nor to those in the East.”
He further emphasized that Serbia remains on the European path but will not adopt sanctions against Moscow.
“Yes, Serbia is on the European path, and it will remain so until the end of my mandate. But Serbia will not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation until the end of my mandate, as long as I have the majority, the influence over the majority, so to say, in the Government of Serbia and in the National Assembly,” Vučić concluded.
