Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić emphasized that there was no dialogue yesterday because, according to him, Kosovo did not want it, seeking immediate recognition from Serbia. He added that it is entirely clear that Albin Kurti does not want to form the Association.
“Yesterday I said if he didn’t want it, that’s pretty much his business, but the dialogue didn’t happen because they don’t want it. They simply want de jure recognition and continuously demand this,” Vučić told Pink.
He stated that Kurti did not want to talk, and that the Serbian delegation wanted to discuss some agreement, on how to solve problems through compromises.
“But I knew well before that they are not ready for this and that, that they are not interested in such things,” he emphasized.
He highlighted that “the persecution of Serbs has become an everyday occurrence, that internationals know this, but remain silent because they don’t know what to do with Kurti.”
“Serbs are arrested as soon as they arrive. When we detained a person suspected of war crimes against Serbs for two hours, left him on a bus for three hours, then the entire international community rose, many MEPs were called,” he said.
Regarding the dialogue, he stressed that there is nothing new and there won’t be anytime soon.
“It is entirely clear that Kurti does not want to form the Association; it is important to maintain peace and calm and, in peace, seek the best solution for the further economic development of Serbia, strengthening Serbia in every sphere of social life,” he explained.
Vučić said he does not believe that there will be serious dialogue in the near future, for which Serbia is ready, but Kosovo is not.
