The founder of the citizens’ association in Serbia “Russian Democratic Society”, Piotr Nikitin, said today that the main problems of Russians whose request for permanent residence is rejected by Serbia is that they do not receive valid explanations for such decisions from the responsible authorities. for security protection.

Nikitin said at a press conference in the Media Center entitled “Revocation of hospitality” regarding the expulsion of Russian citizens from Serbia that he intends to present today a petition and an open letter from citizens to the Presidency with Irina Tereh, her husband Sergej and his son, and Elena Koposova in the Presidency regarding the rejection of their requests for permanent or temporary residence in Serbia.

“The Tereks in August of last year submitted a request for permanent residence after five years spent in Serbia, they live in Banja Koviljaça, where they are considered a respected family. “Well, their requests have been rejected, and the reason stated in the decision is that the authority responsible for protecting the security of Serbia has data that is an obstacle to the approval of permanent residence in Serbia,” he said.

He added that the Tereh family has submitted requests for the extension of their temporary stay, which have also been rejected and the reasons are “the security of Serbia and its citizens” – as stated by the authorities. Elena Koposova experienced the same thing.

Nikitin stated that the only reasons he believes the family did not get approval are the fact that Sergei was born in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, although he spent his entire life in Russia, and the fact that they are boarding. that the family has in Banja Kovilyachi since the beginning of the war, guests from Ukraine have stayed in Ukraine.

“I heard from Sergej and Irina that the police in Banja Koviljaca asked who was staying at the Tereh family hostel. We have no other explanation, and it is not political activism, which has been the reason for previous cancellations of hospitality for Russians. “That family never spoke publicly about their political views, nor did they participate in political protests,” said Nikitin.

Irina Terah said that every time she goes to the police about her location, they greet her with the words: “Where are you tourists!”. She stated that her current civil-legal status prevents her from working legally in Serbia, having health insurance, and that she fears she could be deported at any moment.

“Every day I wake up with the thought of what will happen and what will happen next, where will we end up today”, – said Irina Terah, adding that she has collected 102 signatures of support from the residents of Banja i Koviljaca who support her position In Serbia.

She said that since she did not receive an answer to the letter she sent to the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in December, a petition was launched, which has 1371 citizens so far.

Nikitin said that the response of the authorities to Elena Koposova’s request for a decision on permanent residence was the same – that “she represents an unacceptable security risk” and that in the first decision she was ordered to leave Serbia, but he the decision was annulled. with the efforts of the “Russian Democratic Society” association.

Koposova now has a temporary residence, and her request for permanent residence has been rejected – he said and added that a constitutional complaint has been prepared due to the actions of the institutions responsible for the security of Serbia, which refused residence to some Russian citizens.

Nikitin heads an organization that deals with cases of “revocation of hospitality” for Russian citizens in Serbia. Founded by; as he himself faced a ban on entering Serbia despite having a permanent residence permit and his family living in Serbia.
