Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić praised his visit to Ukraine as a success during the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit, thanking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity and for the absence of Kosovo representatives at the summit, reports Rks News.
“I thanked our Ukrainian hosts, President Zelensky, for respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity. As you saw, there were no representatives from Pristina,” Vučić said, calling it an important gesture toward Serbia.
In return, Zelensky thanked Vučić for Serbia’s initiative to help rebuild Ukrainian settlements, calling the cooperation “a truly effective form” of partnership.
Vučić also addressed speculation that his visit to Ukraine could be seen as a betrayal of Russia, clarifying that Serbia did not sign the summit declaration condemning Russian aggression and abstained to maintain balance in its foreign policy.
