Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić recently met with EU Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sorensen, expressing concerns over developments in Kosovo.
Through a social media post, Vučić highlighted the challenges faced by Serb citizens in Kosovo and criticized the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles, set to come into effect on March 15, 2026, describing them as “escalatory and deeply discriminatory.”
The Serbian president also warned that a regional military alliance involving Kosovo could increase tensions and threaten the security of Serb citizens, referencing Kosovo’s cooperation with Albania and Croatia in the defense sector.
Vučić emphasized the urgency of concrete steps toward forming the Association of Serb-Majority Municipalities, a process long awaited by the Serbian community for 13 years.
Earlier, on February 23, Sorensen visited Kosovo and met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Glauk Konjufca, discussing the ongoing dialogue with Serbia and domestic developments.
Under the new Law on Vehicles, enforcement from March 15 will restrict foreign-plated vehicles to a maximum of three months or require special authorization.
