Former Serbian ambassador Srećko Đukić has warned that President Aleksandar Vučić’s recent remarks about CIA and Mossad activities in Iran risk drawing Serbia into global conflicts, potentially sending a politically sensitive signal to Washington and Tel Aviv.

“These statements could harm Serbia’s foreign policy. The country is not an actor in Middle Eastern conflicts and has no interest in interpretations that accuse two of the most influential Western intelligence agencies,” Đukić told Nova.

He added that Vučić’s public claims could be interpreted as a hostile narrative toward the U.S. and Israel, effectively entangling Serbia in global intelligence and geopolitical disputes far beyond its strategic capacity.

“The comparison with 1953 and the overthrow of Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh represents a classic anti-American and anti-Western propaganda frame, which could be perceived as a political message in Washington and Tel Aviv,” he emphasized.

Đukić concluded with a warning:

“With statements of this kind, Serbia’s position becomes even more complicated, introducing confusion into its foreign policy.”
